Pet of the Month - In the Limelight! at Cloquet Animal Hospital

When I first met Chloe, she was no bigger than the size of my hand. She lied to me that first day! My breeder's son brought her in from the clan and she crawled up to the base of my neck and went to sleep for two hours. I thought she was my cuddler dog that I'd wanted so badly. As it turns out, she doesn't much like cuddling unless she is sick or knows that something is wrong with Mom. Oh well...
That was eight years ago and I've not regretted adding her to my family since. She is the biggest blessing. The intelligence of this dog is astounding. She came home at 7 weeks of age and already knew how to sit. Now she is very well mannered, using hand signals and voice commands for sit, stay, lay, quiet, come, heel...all the basics. Chloe most always does exactly what she's told. If it takes a second command, it is usually done in the most calm of voices and she knows she's in trouble. Sometimes all it takes is a clearing of my throat or a grimacing look and she will respond. It doesn't end there...she even has an inside voice and an outside voice; she knows the difference and will speak in both when asked. She is so smart. I swear she understands everything word that is said to her in complete sentence form. Just ask her! If you want anything kept a secret from her, you best spell it out. With the exception of W-A-L-K, she hasn't learned how to spell yet...thank God!
I am an single woman without children...of the human kind that is. Chloe is my child. I love her with a maternal love that will always protect and care for her above anything or anyone. She will always get my very best because that is what she deserves. It warms my heart knowing that she is loved by others, Grama and Grampa, Uncle Wally, Brother Cruzy, most of her cousins, and yes, her caretakers. Chloe is a blessing to all who know her. She is the sweetest and the best and my little lady! She'll never jump on you; she'll never jump on the furniture without asking first; her kisses won't wash your entire face but rather are little pecks on the cheek; she will greet you at the door with fanfare that has never been seen before...I'm certain that her entire back half could lift her off the ground!
Well, that should do it. Most of you know Chloe because she's been a patient at your clinic since birth. You know that there isn't anything I wouldn't do for. She truly is the love of my life and a gift from God Himself.
Isn't she beautiful!
Chloe is the beloved pet of Susan Seabury.
